Stanley Park is an urban park north of downtown Vancouver and consists of 1,001 acres (404.9 hectares) of land, making it one of the largest urban parks in North America (even topping Central Park in New York City). It is named after Lord Stanley of Preston, who is also the namesake of the Stanley Cup. It is the home of the Vancouver Aquarium and the causeway leading to the Lions Gate Bridge.
