Salisbury Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral built between 1220 and 1258. It contains the tallest church spire in the United Kingdom, at 404 feet (123 meters), largest cloister and largest cathedral close in Britain at 80 acres (320,000 square meters), world's oldest working clock (since AD 1386) and has the best surviving of the four original copies of the Magna Carta.

Caesarea Maritima is a national park in Israel notable for being a harbor built by Herod the Great about 25–13 BCE; its ruins lie on the Mediterranean coast of the country, making it once the largest harbor on the eastern coast of that sea. Around 132, Caesarea became the center of Early Christianity in Palestine. It is the location of the 1961 discovery of the Pilate Stone, the only archaeological item that mentions the Roman prefect Pontius Pilate, by whose order Jesus Christ was crucified.

Qumran is an archeological site in the West Bank, near the Dead Sea. It was constructed around 134 to 104 BCE, and destroyed by the Romans around 68. It is notable as the settlement nearest to the caves in which the Dead Sea Scrolls were hidden; they were discovered between 1947 and 1956, though the site had been explored since the 1850s; nearly 900 scrolls were discovered at Qumran.

The University of Glasgow is the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world, second oldest university in Scotland and one of Scotland's four ancient universities. It was founded in 1451 and has consistently ranked among the top 100 universities in the world. Classes for the university were first taught at the Glasgow Cathedral and moved to its present location in 1870. Among its alumni are six Nobel laureates and two British prime ministers.
